Slow Food Waitakere Photographic Awards 2008

Slow Food Waitakere and Lopdell House Gallery celebrate World Food Day, the
International Year of the Potato and Terra Madre with a photographic
competition based on the humble potato.

There is over $1900 worth of prizes to be won in the following categories:
1. The Potato as Food (still life, open to all) - $750
WINNER: Christine Johannis (Titirangi) - Still Life with Mashed Potatoes
SPECIAL MENTION: Max Nyenkamp (Massey) - My Favourite!

2. The Potato in Society (open to all) - $750
WINNER: Jill Jessop (Mt Albert) - K Road, 1970

3. The Year of the Potato (amateur photographers only) - Fujifilm FinePix
A820 camera (RRP $229) plus $200
WINNER: Elizabeth Mertens (Kelston) - The Universal Vegetable
